(Patria) - Bosnian tennis players Damir Džumhur and Nerman Fatić have cleared the first hurdles in the Australian Open qualifiers.
Džumhur (ATP 160) after a great fight and comeback defeated Kazakhstan's Timofey Skatov (ATP 228) 4:6, 6:3, 6:3.
Fatić (ATP 210) had an easier task, beating Ukraine's Illya Marchenko (ATP 218) 6:4, 7:6.
Džumhur's opponent in the qualifying semifinals will be Italy's Giulio Zeppieri (ATP 134), while Fatić will play against France's Terence Atmane (ATP 145) for a place in the qualifying final.
The semifinal matches are scheduled for the early hours of Thursday local time.
