Džeko is booed by those who left Bosnia and Herzegovina long ago!

The national football team lost a friendly match against Egypt with a score of 2-0. More than 14,000 fans watched the match at the Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck, but more than the defeat and poor performance, the whistles directed at the best Bosnian striker Edin Džeko were hurtful. The Manchester City striker was not at his best last night, but he explained that he was also slightly injured.

 However, the reaction of some fans, as stated by coach Safet Sušić, was not what our team needed.

Jasmin Ligata, Edin Džeko's spokesperson and a long-time sports journalist, stated in an interview with the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) that one can become a traitor or a hero overnight in Bosnia and Herzegovina after just one match.

- Only in Bosnia and Herzegovina are some things forgotten overnight, things that should not be forgotten. And only in Bosnia and Herzegovina can you not have a bad day or lose. Only in Bosnia and Herzegovina are our children, who have given so much to this country and promote it at every step, proudly emphasizing their connection to it, spat upon by those who left it long ago - said Ligata.

To be fair, the Dragons (Zmajevi) did not deliver a performance they are capable of last night either, but some fans, mostly from the diaspora, quickly forgot the great successes, the trip to Brazil, they forgot that Safet Sušić, along with Džeko, Spahić, Pjanić... made the nation happy like no one else since the war.

According to many, the Bosnian diaspora does not appreciate the fact that fans in Bosnia and Herzegovina will not have the opportunity to watch the Dragons, because the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to play friendly matches around the world precisely because of them, and in doing so, fans in Bosnia and Herzegovina will not have the opportunity to watch the best footballers of Bosnia and Herzegovina live.

Despite everything, Džeko tried to explain to the "fans" that he came injured and played as such, which the coach was aware of and, in agreement with him, he was supposed to play only the first half!

- Why the coach didn't substitute me then, and again when I asked for a substitution from the field, only he knows! Every defeat hurts me, because I am a winner at heart and no one can deny or change that. I have always played for the national team with my heart and it will be the same in the future - said Bosnian international Edin Džeko.

And while the Bosnian striker Džeko, as a child in besieged Sarajevo, tried to play football under a rain of shells, many of yesterday's "whistlers" enjoyed luxury.
