Džeko: It was shown once again that the ball is round, now we dream of the Champions League final

Roma striker and captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team Edin Džeko shone in the return leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Barcelona. According to the Football Italia portal, he is the man of the match.

Roma celebrated 3:0 in Rome, thus managing to overturn the result from the first match at Camp Nou, which was 4:1 for the Catalans.

In his statement, Džeko says it is a well-known fact that everyone in the draw was hoping to get Roma.

- In the end, Barcelona got us, and I believe they were satisfied with that. We honestly were not satisfied with drawing one of the best teams in the world, but yesterday it was shown once again that the ball is round and that anything is possible.

We played one of the best matches. It is difficult to play against them, because if you give them the ball, you will hardly get to play. Last night, that was not the same Barcelona; we pressed from the first minute, and in recent years I have never seen Barcelona so powerless. I think the first goal we scored gave us strength, as did the crowd, which was excellent – Džeko said.

Our captain and Roma hero emphasizes that all the teams in the Champions League semifinals deserve to be there.

- As for wishes for the semifinal match, I must say everyone deserves to be there and there are no more favorites. I think more will be said about Roma than before the matches with Barcelona. The dream is to go to the final. After so many great matches we have played, it shows that we have the strength and that we can reach the goal, which is the final. I have scored six goals in the Champions League, and that is my best performance in this competition, but I hope I will not stop there, because there are more matches – added Džeko.

We remind you, our player is most responsible for Roma's greatest success in Champions League history. Roma celebrated 3:0 against the great Barcelona, and after a 4:1 defeat in the first match, managed to qualify for the semifinals for the first time in the club's history.

Džeko put Roma in the lead in the 6th minute, and in the 58th minute he won a penalty, which was converted into a goal by De Rossi. The final 3:0 was set by Manolas in the 82nd minute.
