Džeko, Pjanić, Teletović, Tuka and other athletes congratulated Independence Day

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrates Independence Day today. 26 years ago, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina voted in a referendum for an independent, sovereign and democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Leading athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Džeko, Miralem Pjanić, Mirza Teletović, Jusuf Nurkić, and numerous others, congratulated citizens on Independence Day. 

- It's not perfect, but it's ours and the most beautiful to me. My only homeland, I love your name and wear it with pride on my heart. Happy Independence Day, my only homeland - said the captain of the football national team, Edin Džeko.

One of our best footballers, Miralem Pjanić, also sent his congratulations.

- Happy Independence Day, my only homeland - says Pjanić. 

Our best basketball player, Mirza Teletović, who is recovering from an injury in America, also did not forget to send his congratulations.

- Millennia-old land, I swear my loyalty to you. I wish our one and only Bosnia and Herzegovina a Happy Independence Day. You are as you are, we have no better and we live for you and always return to you… I love you Bosnia and Herzegovina - wrote Teletović.

Another BiH basketball player, who plays with great success in the strongest basketball league in the world, the NBA, Jusuf Nurkić, sent his congratulations on the national holiday.  

- Happy March 1st, Independence Day, to all Bosnians and Herzegovinians in the homeland and around the world! - congratulated Nurkić.

Congratulations were also sent by the goalkeeper of the BiH national football team, Asmir Begović, as well as the best BiH athlete, Amel Tuka.
