It's too early to say that we've lost the title due to the defeat against Liverpool, said Edin Džeko, Manchester City striker, for the club's website, reports the BH News Agency Patria (NAP).
Džeko himself best remembers how City's chances for the title were written off two years ago, but his team won the title in a dramatic finish where Džeko himself scored the goal for a comeback in the last match.
City then had eight points less than Manchester United six rounds before the end, but emerged as the winner in the end. Now they have seven points less than Liverpool, and two games less.
- We have six more games to go, and Liverpool and Chelsea have four each. People say we are under pressure, but I say that doesn't matter, what matters is who will win more games from now until the final whistle of the championship. I firmly believe we will be champions, despite this defeat – says Džeko.
City's next chance is tomorrow when they play Sunderland at home.
- We have many new players and we want the title again for the fans. We are returning to the winning track already against Sunderland and West Brom next week. I enjoyed winning titles with Wolfsburg and with City, and I hope we will win many more – said Džeko.
Despite the defeat against Liverpool, our striker played an excellent game and was one of those who contributed to the comeback after Liverpool's 2-0 lead. However, after the return of Sergio Agüero, his team conceded a goal.
- His return is important, and he is an extremely vital player for us. I hope we will see the best Kun until the end of the season – added Džeko, reports NAP.
