For days, I have been following the events in our BiH - Maglaj, Zenica, Bijeljina, Sanski Most and other cities with trepidation in my heart, I will personally get involved to help as much as I can, announced Edin Džeko, the best footballer of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, before his arrival for preparations, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
Džeko received permission from the coach to be late for the start of preparations, but he did not suspect that in those days BiH would face one of the biggest challenges in its history.
- My feelings are divided, because I believed that qualifying for the World Cup would unite us, and unfortunately, disaster has united us - Džeko wrote on his Facebook profile.
Hundreds of people are collecting aid for the most vulnerable - humanitarian organizations, sports clubs, businessmen, individuals have mobilized and are helping.
- All this that is happening is just an indication of how we must always stick together, not only in disaster, but also in happiness, joy and celebration. I am touched by the efforts to help people, and at the same time proud to be a Bosnian and Herzegovinian, when I see how many good people we have - Džeko stated.
Emphasizing that good people all over the world have already joined the aid efforts, he once again personally appealed to help all families and our fellow citizens, with food, clothing, shoes and everything they need, reports NAP.
