Edin Džeko had a successful debut for Italian Roma last night as he scored two of the six goals they put in the net of the Sevilla goalkeeper, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
Džeko scored the first goal in the 4th minute and then another in the 42nd, both in the first half. After the match, he told the club's website that he will work hard to be ready for the start of the Serie A season next Saturday.
In front of more than 40,000 fans at the Olympic Stadium, Džeko and his team scored a total of six goals, and his were particularly appreciated by the fans who had been eagerly awaiting the Diamond's arrival all summer.
- I think the fans saw a good game with many goals. But we conceded some easy goals in the second half, but I believe everyone can be satisfied with the victory.
Džeko admitted that he was surprised by the large number of fans who came to the Olimpico.
When asked if he was ready for the upcoming season, he said he had to be.
- We trained hard, I felt good in my first match and I will be even better going forward. I am very happy to be here.
