The captain of the BiH national team, Edin Džeko, will play his fifth match against Belgium on Friday. Looking at the statistics, Džeko has scored in every encounter so far, and he scored twice in the qualifying match for the World Cup in 2010 (Zenica, April 1, 2009), reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Five goals in four matches give us the right to expect goals from the captain in tomorrow's game as well.
- What is important in such matches is to fulfill all the coach's tactical ideas. We have been working on that these days and I believe we will be as combative as we know how and impose our style of play. The Belgians are playing at home and are favorites, but that means nothing if we play well and are maximally focused on our tasks. I never think about who will be the scorer, me or one of my teammates.
It is important that we score a goal and try to win a point or three. My performances have always depended on the team's performance, and my goals are the result of the collective approach and effort of all players. Belgium has several excellent individuals who can cause us certain problems on the field, but we are also a quality team. I believe we will play well, put on a quality performance for our fans, and ultimately achieve a result that would satisfy us all.
