The mandate of the current director of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, Miro Džakula, expires on February 23, 2016, which is why a tender procedure for the election of the director will be conducted, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
Džakula told Patria in a telephone conversation that he has the right to candidacy, but that he will decide when the tender is announced.
- The Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH has achieved good results, but I will decide only when I see the tender - said Džakula.
The Council of Ministers of BiH today tasked the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of BiH to initiate the procedure for the election and appointment of the director of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH.
The director of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH will be appointed by the Council of Ministers in accordance with the Law on Ministerial Appointments, Appointments by the Council of Ministers, and Other Appointments in BiH, after the tender procedure has been completed.
Incidentally, Džakula has been at the head of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH since February 2011.
As Patria previously wrote, during Džakula's mandate, the national balance of employees in the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH was disrupted, and a large number of Croats from Čapljina, Džakula's hometown, were employed.
Džakula is a candidate of the HDZ, and he replaced Kemal Čaušević at the head of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, who was arrested in the Pandora operation in June 2014 due to corruption in the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH. To this day, no indictment has ever been filed, although he was accused of organized crime, abuse of office, money laundering, and customs and tax evasion.
