Šefik Džaferović, a member of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly, said today that events in The Hague are not a reason to postpone a session of this house.
- I said this at the collegium session as well. Our attention should be turned towards the victims of crime, not towards those on trial. The Hague Tribunal has been of great help to international justice. It has established all the essential facts about what happened in BiH from 1992 to 1995. Instead of debating the decision of the Hague Tribunal, we should turn to respecting those decisions and drawing lessons from them - said Džaferović.
He said that the question of the involvement of other states in the war in BiH cannot be viewed solely on the basis of one court decision, because there are verdicts that also speak of Serbia's involvement in the war in BiH.
- The war in BiH, first politically and later as an armed conflict, was imported from neighbouring countries. Those countries are therefore also signatories to the Dayton Peace Agreement - said Džaferović.
We remind you that the Chairwoman of the House of Representatives of the PSBiH, Borjana Krišto (HDZ), requested that the session of the highest legislative body be interrupted due to the verdict of the Hague Tribunal in the case of "Prlić and others", which was ultimately done, because Mladen Bosić supported such a stance. Džaferović had no other option but to say that the House of Representatives did not have the conditions to work.
