(Patria) - The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, sent congratulations on the occasion of May 1 - International Workers' Day.
"We are marking this significant holiday, which promotes the idea of workers' rights and solidarity, in challenging times caused by the coronavirus pandemic this year. The pandemic will have negative consequences on the economy. Therefore, in the time ahead, it will be necessary for all of us to invest additional energy together to minimize the damage caused by the pandemic and to ensure the fastest possible economic recovery.
In doing so, we must take into account the rights of every worker, especially those in the real sector, so that workers' rights and solidarity are not reduced to mere slogans.
I expect all actors in political, economic, and social life to be aware of the challenges ahead. In this time, no one will be able to keep everything they had, nor should it happen that some lose everything they had before the crisis. Social solidarity must become an obligation.
