Two BiH athletes banned from sports for four years due to doping

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Anti-Doping Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has uncovered two cases of prohibited substance use among Bosnian and Herzegovinian athletes.

The first is boxer Džan Šljivo, who was tested on 22.05.21 at the 2021 National Boxing Championship held in Zenica. Analysis of the collected sample confirmed the presence of the prohibited substance GW1516 from the class "S4. Hormones and metabolic modulators", on the List of Prohibited Substances for 2021.

He has been handed a four-year ban from sports.

The second case is kickboxer Zahid Skopljak, whose sample was collected on 05.06.21 at the "Grand Prix Ilidža 2021" competition. His sample contained the prohibited substance metandienone from the class "S1. Anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS)", on the List of Prohibited Substances for 2021.

He has also been handed a four-year ban from sports.

All results achieved by both athletes from the date of sample collection are also annulled, including the forfeiture of prizes, medals, and points.

In accordance with the current Anti-Doping Rules in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the decision was made by the Hearing Committee, and the athletes can appeal these decisions to the Appeals Committee.
