Two-Year Sports Bans for Handball Players Salkić and Ramić

The Handball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has made decisions imposing two-year bans from sports on handball players Husejin Salkić and Alen Ramić, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Recall, handball player of RK „Gračanica“ Husejin Salkić tested positive for amphetamine after testing on 03.10.2014. during the championship match between RK „Gračanica“ and HMRK „Zrinjski“, thus violating Article 2.1 of the World Anti-Doping Code (Presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites in an athlete's sample).

On the other hand, Alen Ramić, a handball player from Tuzla's „Sloboda Solana“, after the match between RK „Sloboda Solana“ and RK „Vogošća“, played on 14.11.14, refused to submit to doping control after being properly notified. By this refusal, Ramić violated Article 2.3 of the World Anti-Doping Code (Refusing or failing to provide a sample without compelling justification).

According to the decision of the Handball Federation of BiH, the bans for both handball players run from 21.11.2014.
