Two Million KM in Support for Social Work Centers in FBiH

(Patria) - Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić promised at the beginning of his term that the Ministry would work on strengthening the capacities of social work centers, considering the overall situation in society and the state of social work centers in FBiH.

With the adoption of the budget, three million KM was approved for the support of these centers, and the Ministry has recently begun the implementation and distribution of these funds.

On this occasion, Delić reminded that the Ministry is implementing these forms of support for the centers for the first time, with the aim of enabling them better working conditions to prevent the suppression of negative social trends, starting with domestic violence, gender-based violence, and all other deviations that we face as a society.

- Social work centers in the Federation of BiH are in a difficult state and need essential support to improve infrastructure and procure basic material and technical resources for work.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy is committed to working on improving the status and position of social work centers in order to ensure higher quality working conditions for their employees, and thus higher quality services for their users - says Delić.

In the budget of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, 2,000,000 KM has been secured for the improvement of infrastructural and spatial conditions in social work centers and social protection institutions in the FBiH.

The Ministry has prepared a Program for the distribution of these funds and has sent notifications to the centers inviting them to apply for funds for co-financing:

- Procurement of permanent material and technical resources (250,000.00 KM);

- Investment in existing facilities (750,000.00 KM);

- Investment in the construction of new facilities (1,000,000.00 KM).

The distribution of funds will be based on general and specific criteria, and all interested centers must submit appropriate project documentation.

Delić stated that this support program was prepared after meetings and discussions with representatives of social work centers who presented the problems and challenges they face in their work.

He also noted that this is not the only support program in the Ministry's budget for social work centers, and that during the year, in addition to the 700,000 KM in support that the Ministry is already providing for strengthening human capacities in the centers, 300,000 KM will soon be available for support in implementing federal legal regulations, which altogether amounts to three million in support for social work centers in FBiH.
