If we want to go the path of concrete reforms, then let's start by boosting our political authority and giving up (abolishing or reducing) the "white bread"! Let's not wait for a new people's storm, it could permanently blow many away from the political scene, said Jasmin Duvnjak, former MP in the Federal Parliament of BiH.
There are a total of 156 MPs in the two houses of the Federal Parliament. After their mandate expires, if they have not returned to their workplaces before entering Parliament, MPs can receive salaries from the state for a whole year.
According to data from the Administrative Commission of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament, about 50 MPs of the Federal Parliament, whose mandates have ended, have so far submitted requests to receive the so-called "white bread".
Although one of the main demands of the citizens of BiH in all previous years was precisely the abolition of "white bread", it has not reached the ears of a large number of MPs.
- There is no point in moralizing, especially to those who do not want to face common sense and their own conscience - said Duvanjak.
