Dunović: The problem with the National Museum must be resolved as soon as possible

The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Dunović, responded to the invitation of the Director of the National Museum in Sarajevo, Adnan Busuladžić, and visited this institution on April 2, 2015, reports the BH news agency Patria.

The Director of the Museum informed Vice President Dunović about the internal structure of the institution, showed him all the premises and collections of impressive exhibits they still possess, and emphasized that they continue to face well-known problems.

- There are still no indications that the situation the Museum has been in for three years will be resolved soon. We know that your capabilities as Vice President of the FBiH are limited, and we take this opportunity to thank you for responding to our invitation and for supporting us within your capabilities - said the Director of the Museum.

In addition to the unresolved legal status, he also pointed out that they are in a difficult financial situation, and that the employees have been working without any compensation or contributions all this time, but they hope that the newly formed government at all levels will be receptive to this problem.

Vice President Dunović promised to provide support within his capabilities and authorities, and emphasized that it is necessary to urgently resolve the problem of this institution, given its great cultural significance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- We are all well aware of the problems this institution has been facing for years. I, as the Vice President of the FBiH, within the scope of my responsibilities, will strive to provide support and call on all my colleagues from all levels of government to focus on resolving this issue. Through the projects I plan to implement with my Cabinet, we will certainly draw attention to the National Museum of our city.

The Vice President said he was impressed by the preservation of all exhibits and praised the dedication and work of all employees who, regardless of the situation they are in today, strive to preserve the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina from decay.
