Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milan Dunović will attend on Thursday, 30.03.2017, a panel discussion on the occasion of the publication of the Declaration on the Common Language, which will be held at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (Zmaja od Bosne 8).
Vice President Dunović will also add his signature to the Declaration tomorrow, which was created as a result of the project "Languages and Nationalisms", and whose goal is to raise awareness about language in the context of scientific treatment and perception without the interference of nationalist and daily-political content. Objective, exclusively linguistic problematization is important for objectifying this important topic.
This document has stirred up a lot of dust, both among linguists and in the public.
The Declaration on the Common Language has so far been signed by more than 200 linguists, writers, scientists, activists and other individuals from the public and cultural life of Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the project was initiated by the associations Krokodil, the Kurs Association from Split, the Center for Civic Education (CGO) from Podgorica, and the PEN Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Sarajevo. The project was supported by Allianz Kulturstiftung and Forum ZFD. One of the signatories is also Štefica Galić, editor of the portal Tačno.net.
