Đukić: Bošković and HDZ arguing with European standards

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - We in the Democratic Front welcome the amendments to the Election Law based on the recommendations and measures from the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's candidate status for EU membership, said today the DF MP in the House of Representatives of the Federation of BiH Parliament, Mara Đukić, responding to the claims of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, Mladen Bošković, who claimed that the DF is in a panic.

We will see, Mr. Bošković, who is in a panic when the process of amending the Election Law starts to unfold according to the measures and recommendations of the European Commission. In those measures and recommendations, there is nowhere your invented construct of so-called legitimate representation of the people, which is why you in the HDZ flee from the implementation of the recommendations and measures from the EC Opinion like the devil flees from the cross," Đukić said, as announced by the Democratic Front.

She adds that Bošković, "thinking he is attacking the Democratic Front, does not see that he is actually arguing with European standards and the opinion of the European Commission.

"We understand that it is difficult for him to read the EC Opinion. We repeat the positions of the European Commission and will never get tired of repeating them so that Bošković and all other 'Boškovićs' understand that any strengthening of ethno-national principles means distancing Bosnia and Herzegovina from European standards," Đukić added.
She stated that Bošković's boasting about how the HDZ managed to block the DF and SDP's proposal to amend the Law on Electoral Units through the House of Peoples is pathetic.
"Precisely, the recommendations of the European Commission clearly state that the current role of the House of Peoples is completely incompatible with European standards and that the role of the House of Peoples must be reduced. We will only see the HDZ's panic when, following the implementation of the EC Opinion, they lose that lever for blockades in the FBiH Parliament, and only then will the HDZ regret asking for bread beyond the roll", concluded Đukić.
