(Patria) - Due to works in the tunnels at the entrance to Sarajevo from the A1 highway, significant traffic jams and long queues of vehicles were recorded today.
According to BIHAMK information, regular servicing of the Oštrik and Vukov Gaj tunnels is underway since 6 PM, due to which the Sarajevo sjever - Butile section is closed.
Traffic is diverted to the Vogošća interchange, with temporary signage in place.
However, even on alternative routes, especially towards the Vogošća interchange, large queues have formed, further slowing down vehicle flow.
Drivers point out that the problem is further exacerbated by insufficient or delayed information about the works and traffic regime changes.
BIHAMK states that works are also being carried out in parallel on the Kakanj - Lašva section, where the left lane is closed for about three kilometers, and traffic is proceeding in both directions on the opposite side of the highway.
Also, on the Sarajevo sjever - Podlugovi and Sarajevo zapad - Lepenica sections, traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane due to works, which further slows down vehicle movement on this part of the highway.
