STATE TERRORISM 27 years have passed since Ugljen's murder, the killer has never been found!

(Patria) - Nedžad Ugljen, Assistant Director of the Agency for Investigations and Documentation (AID), was murdered in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Aneks on this day, September 28, 1996. The perpetrator of the murder has never been found to this day.

The media wrote that "the investigation into Ugljen's murder was 'forgotten' in the drawer of cantonal prosecutor Mustafa Bisić". Bisić kept the investigation in his drawers for seven years.

In December 2003, prosecutor Branko Šljivar took his place and served as Chief Cantonal Prosecutor until 2009.

In April 2017, the BiH Prosecutor's Office reopened the case and launched an official investigation into Ugljen's never-solved murder.

It was then stated that SIPA was questioning the top officials and agents of the former AID, whose Deputy Director Ugljen was, and that they possessed certain information about the reasons for the murder. However, nothing further was done!

The case was handled by prosecutor Oleg Čavka, both as a cantonal prosecutor from 2005 and later as a state prosecutor.

Ugljen came to Sarajevo from Mostar, as a proven cadre of the former State Security Service (SDB).

In the former SDB, he covered Yugoslav emigration abroad. There is, of course, not enough space for details, but it is important to recall that Ugljen - the investigation established this - knew he was being followed, and even claimed this in several phone conversations, including during his trip from Mostar!

He even told Senad Pećanin, then editor-in-chief of Dani, on the street that he feared he would be killed. It later turned out that Ugljen made the same claim in several places and deposited a tape he recorded at KCUS on the same day that Nedžad Herenda, also an AID employee, emerged from a manhole he had fallen into after an abduction carried out by AID members?!

This murder, like many other unsolved ones, can be treated as state terrorism, because the state has not done enough to find the perpetrators or corrupt officials have refused to do their part of the job.
