About a hundred rescuers have been involved in the search for a young hiker David Majić (24) from Tomislavgrad, who went missing two days ago on Mount Vran.
The young man went to the mountain alone, and after he did not return home by evening, an extensive search was launched for him, but still without results, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Muamer Drugovac, director of the Association for Support and Development of Sports Tourism „Avantur“ from Sarajevo, said that it is difficult to predict what could have happened to the young man on the mountain, but the most likely scenario is that he injured himself and cannot call for help. He hopes that the missing hiker still has enough strength and that rescuers will find him alive.
- If we take into account that the young man was a hiker, and that in the area where the hiker went missing he also had a mobile phone signal, the young man most likely seriously injured himself, perhaps fell somewhere, after which he was unable to call for help – said Drugovac.
Drugovac said that such examples must serve as a warning to other hikers and excursionists not to go to the mountain alone, regardless of how experienced they are.
- At least three people should go to the mountain. If one gets injured, the other two can carry him. It is even better if five people go to the mountain, because in case of injury to one hiker, the other four can take turns carrying him. That would be a minimum number of people if you decide to go to the mountain - advises Drugovac, writes Patria.
