Dramatic Appeal: Disaster Looms If Healthcare in Livno Isn't Aided!

(Patria) - We have no other choice but to address you in these difficult times for every resident of BiH and the world, and to ask that we be taken seriously. The hospital has absolutely no conditions to defend itself even minimally against the coronavirus, let alone to face it prepared and on its feet," reads a dramatic appeal received from Livno addressed to Patria.

The appeal concerns the current state of healthcare in Canton 10, primarily the cantonal hospital in Livno.

"The budget of our canton has not yet been passed, and this is an even greater concern for our doctors, nurses and technicians, servers, cleaners, and the patients they all care for.

A disaster awaits our canton if healthcare is not aided; they possess only 20 protective suits for the entire canton, about 10 pairs of protective goggles, and masks are completely lacking.

"We are in constant contact with the director of the Cantonal Hospital regarding the donation of equipment (protective masks, suits, goggles, ventilators) should donors come forward, and funds will be paid directly into the hospital's account. We have knocked on every possible door that we thought might even be slightly ajar. The letters have been translated into English, German, French, Norwegian, and Arabic, and translations into Chinese and South Korean are underway. All donors who have contacted us will be publicly acknowledged, unless they state otherwise," the appeal signed by Stjepana Ivanuš and Dalmir Mišković states.
