Draconian penalty for Everton, the harshest in Premier League history

(Patria) - The English Premier League has made a decision to deduct 10 points from Everton for violating financial fair play.

Thus, from 14th place with 14 points, they will fall to 19th position and will have only four points, the same as last-placed Burnley.

The league announced that the club from "Goodison Park" committed serious breaches of the rules concerning profit and sustainability of the club's financial status.

This is the harshest penalty in Premier League history.

Last March, Everton was referred to an independent commission for alleged violations in the 2021/22 season, with the hearing held last month, ultimately resulting in a drastic penalty.
