Dragan Zovko new coach of Visoko's Bosna

RK Bosna Centrotrans from Visoko has a new coach, handball expert Dragan Zovko. He stated that the contract between him and Bosna has not yet been signed, but that he is a man of his word and will soon come to Visoko to officially sign the contract.

- It is an honor and a pleasure to have received an invitation to come to such an environment. It will not be easy, because regardless of my experience, Visoko is a handball environment and many people know this sport, but for me this is a great challenge and I look forward to coming. I hesitated for a long time about accepting the contract, but I know Nermin Salman from the club's Management Board well, the team has a clear vision, and that's why I accepted to come to Visoko - Zovko stated.

Zovko was born in Jajce, where he started playing handball. He debuted in the first team of Jajce in the 1977/78 season, and he joined Sarajevo's Željezničar twice (1980 and 1981), but left dissatisfied with the treatment and insufficient playing time.

In the 1984/85 season, he wore the jersey of Vojvodina from Novi Sad, and after that, he played for Radnik from Donji Vakuf for three years. In the 1988/89 season, he played for Borac from Travnik, and after that, he moved to the French club Montpont-Libourne.
He started his coaching career at this club, and was a player-coach for two years, before becoming the coach of the women's team of Bordeaux in the 1991/92 season, and after that, leading Dijon (women) for two consecutive years, he reached the semi-finals of the IHF Cup.

In the 1994/95 season, he took over the second division team Venissieux, and from 1995 to 1998, he managed Villerubanne and led them to the first division of French handball (D1), and reached the semi-finals of the French Cup.

In the 1999/2000 season, he took over Morteau (N3 league in France), and after a year, he took over the women's team St. Cyr sur Mer, with the goal of staying in the D2 league, which he achieved. From 2001 to 2004, he managed the women's team ASUL, with whom he played in the first and second tiers of women's handball. From 2005 to 2008, he returned to men's handball and managed SMV Vernon, and in the 2005/06 season, he led this team to LNH (the first tier of French handball).

In the 2009/10 season, he took over Chenois-Geneve HB in Switzerland and led them to the first league. After that, he returned to France, where he took over Creteil and brought them back to the top tier of competition.

In the 2012/13 season, he coached the junior national team of Qatar, with whom he became the Asian champion and qualified for the World Championship, which was held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also coached this selection at that competition.

In the 2013/14 season, he signed a seven-month contract with Tremblay, with the goal of ensuring the team's survival in the first tier, which he succeeded in. In the summer of 2015, he signed a two-year contract with the women's team of Cannes, but the club withdrew from the league for administrative reasons and decided to compete in the amateur league.
