(Patria) - Dr. Dragan Stevanović commented on the developments in the healthcare system and the way the pandemic is being fought, as well as the announcement that doctors' licenses will be revoked.
"Many of my female and male colleagues are working with heart and soul, doing the best they know and can under the imposed conditions. Many did so even before this crisis. There were many who at one time raised their voices against the perverse decisions of the rulers who had been crippling our profession for years. Some who opposed were driven away, others, unable to change anything, left, and most of the remaining ones are obedient, disheartened, and compliant.
In the crisis, the brave ones are working again, seeking solutions, proposing, criticizing the authorities, while the disheartened ones are silent, doing as they are told, or 'running away' on sick leave.
And now they are being called out by those who brought all this about, who until yesterday swore that everything was perfect with them, that they were ideal, the best, omnipotent, or by those who know all this but change nothing, even though they could.
They want to judge them, revoke their licenses, check them, and put them to shame," states Dr. Stevanović.
He emphasizes that there should be prosecutions, but first, all those responsible who led to this situation in the healthcare system of Sarajevo Canton should be held accountable.
"After them, those within our ranks who enabled this through their silence can come next. The fish always stinks from the head, and you want to clean from the tail," notes Dr. Stevanović.
