Dr. Nakaš: It seems the public has once again defeated politics, but...

(Patria) - Dr. Bakir Nakaš commented on ideas regarding the health system, specifically its reorganization.

"In the period from May 1992 until 2000, politics tried to hinder the work of the State Hospital "Sarajevo" by threatening its closure, shutting it down, mobilizing it and converting it into a "military hospital" for the needs of treating members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to converting the hospital into a "Center for Mother and Child" while shutting down its other functions.

In every such attempt, expertise was never asked for an opinion.

Here I will not dwell on the most serious attempt to close it and completely erase its 150-year tradition of existence and work in 2016, when with the support of the citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina and its patients, this process was stopped...

Unfortunately, today, during the coronavirus infection epidemic, politicians are once again bothered by its functionality, and without asking for the opinion of experts and users of health services, they are trying to put it in an extremely unfavorable position and prevent its current efficiency.

It seems that the public has once again defeated politics... for how long? Until the next attempt? It will be difficult to know now, perhaps tomorrow we will witness new cabinet ideas without checking their feasibility.
