The time has come when one should not joke even among friends

The wig and glasses I put on my head belong to my wife. She bought the wig 30 years ago, and the glasses somewhere at the market, and the whole thing cost about 20 KM. Unfortunately, that wig taught me that the time has come when you cannot joke even among your closest friends – says Mirsad Kebo, Vice President of the Federation of BiH in an exclusive interview for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The media published a photo in which the Vice President of the Federation is wearing a blonde wig and glasses, stating that he is hiding from someone. However, Kebo called it a political harangue against his person and a diversion from more serious problems in the country.

At a time when BiH has politically regressed ten years, when the country has a large number of unemployed, he believes it is completely senseless to deal with Mirsad Kebo in this way.

- It is obvious that this is a political harangue against my person - he said.

- I did not delve into the reasons why all this is happening. Because I don't think it deserves my comment. I am not a thief, and I am not a robber, and I have nothing to fear – explains Kebo, adding that even his smile in the photo clearly shows that it was a humorous moment, which he created while surrounded by people he knows.

- I like to joke. Unlike some people who are gloomy, my spirit is completely different. But some fall for my jokes, and I can't do anything about it – explains Kebo.

When asked by NAP journalists about his opinion on the demonstrators who have been blocking traffic in the capital of BiH for several weeks, he replied that he does not support such a way of expressing citizens' dissatisfaction.

- This is not the way to resolve the situation in the country - says Kebo.

- This way of protesting will only cause a counter-effect. A few hundred citizens cannot stop life in the city, invoking their democratic rights. What about the democratic right of the other 400,000 people living in Sarajevo? People have children, they have jobs, they have sick children... It is clear that blocking traffic in the city causes them additional financial costs.

He says he supports protests and citizens' dissatisfaction, but in a way that they take place at a time and place that will not disrupt the lives of other people.

- These protesting people do not bother me. I come to work before they stop traffic and return from work after they have dispersed. But I see that for most citizens, demonstrations in this way are already starting to cause a burden.

Commenting on speculation that he will actively join the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB), he says that he is an independent candidate, but that he sees no problem in being close to all political parties in BiH, including SBB.

- Every political party in BiH should be respected. Because each of them has positive sides. Even SBB, if you will. That party voted for me. As for my active membership in one of these political parties, when I decide to do so, I will personally inform the public – says Kebo.
