Đonlagić: HDZ and NiP have identical views, trying to discredit Kovačević with mudslinging

(Patria) - The guest of the show "Jutro za sve" (Morning for all), hosted and produced by Zvonko Komšić, was the Secretary General of the Democratic Front, Dženan Đonlagić, who spoke, among other things, about the DF's decision to nominate Slaven Kovačević for the Presidency member from the Croat people.

When asked why he called the Party of People and Justice (NiP) an affiliate of HDZ, Đonlagić said it was because their views on the election of Slaven Kovačević as a member of the BiH Presidency from the Croat people completely coincided.
"We saw that the only political reactions in the form of statements came from HDZ and NiP, and they were completely identical regarding Slaven Kovačević's candidacy," he said.

Answering the question why the Democratic Front decided on Slaven Kovačević, Đonlagić stated:

"Because he is a candidate who represents the most important criteria for election to this position, which are the rule of law and commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and because we are sure that in the next elections in 2026, it will be a choice between the concept advocated by HDZ, and we see what their concept for organizing Bosnia and Herzegovina is, or for the concept of a civic Bosnia and Herzegovina," he said.

Đonlagić emphasized that the Democratic Front will not participate in dragging Kovačević into mudslinging stories about ethnic affiliation, which the political opponents of DF and Kovačević are trying to do.

"They actually want to drag the candidate through the mud and personally discredit him. What is important is what this position means after the 2026 elections, and it means a lot," said Đonlagić.
