Dončić breaks Wilt Chamberlain's record against Portland

(Patria) - Luka Dončić is once again the main topic of the evening in the NBA league. The Slovenian star led the Dallas Mavericks to their third consecutive victory with a fantastic game.

In the 131:120 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, Dončić recorded a triple-double with 40 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

With this performance, Dončić surpassed Wilt Chamberlain on the list of players with the most triple-doubles with 40 points scored in NBA history.

The Slovenian now has eight, while ahead of him remain Oscar Robertson (22), James Harden (16), and Russell Westbrook (13).

He also surpassed Dirk Nowitzki in the number of games with 35+ points for Dallas. Nowitzki had 78 in 21 seasons, while Dončić broke that record already in his sixth year in the league.

The Slovenian thus continued his fantastic form. In each of the last eight games, he scored at least 32 points, and this is his third triple-double in that period. The Mavericks have achieved eight wins in that span.

In Portland, Dončić had the most help from Tim Hardaway, who finished the game with 25 points and six rebounds. Derrick Jones Jr. and Dante Exum added 18 points each. For the Blazers, the best was Anfernee Simons with 33 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Jerami Grant scored 27 points.
