House of Peoples of the FBiH adopted the Draft Law on New Željezara Zenica

(Patria) - Delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH adopted the Draft Law on the procedure of extraordinary administration in the company New Željezara Zenica of special systemic importance for the Federation of BiH, and given that it was adopted in the same text as in the House of Representatives, it will enter into force upon publication in the Official Gazette.

57 delegates voted in favor, and one was abstained.

We remind, the FBiH Government adopted in the House of Representatives two amendments by SDA and one partially, which became an integral part of the law text.

According to the mentioned solution, Energoinvest would take over the management of this company in order to try to prevent the shutdown of steel production, which could cause a chain reaction in other companies. Before that, it is planned to form, as the law itself says, an extraordinary administration in the company, which will be appointed by the FBiH Government.

We remind, the Zenica Steelworks ran into problems after it was taken over by the controversial businessman Gordan Pavlović Goci, owner of Pavgord. Just a few months after the takeover, bankruptcy was announced.
