House of Peoples approves borrowing for the Federation of BiH for the health system improvement project

(Patria) - The House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved by a majority vote at a session the borrowing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of 19,240,000 euros under the loan agreement between the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the implementation of the health system improvement project.

The planned loan repayment period is 32 years, with a grace period of seven years.

The loan funds are to be used to finance the health care improvement project in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The primary goal is to improve the quality of health services, as well as the financial condition of health systems in the Federation of BiH.

The project will enable further introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) into the health system, as explained in the decision.

From the opposition, it was pointed out that there is concern over the galloping borrowing. The ruling party, however, states that these borrowings are no greater than previous ones!

Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation, recently said that the Federation has not borrowed a single mark.
