SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has concluded the debate on the Proposal of the Law on the Rights of Veterans and Members of Their Families.
The debate on the veterans' law was quite exhausting, with several rejoinders and accusations. Many criticized the law, but despite the shortcomings they pointed out, they announced they would support this law.
We recall, the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the FBiH supported the Proposal of the Law on the Rights of Veterans and Members of Their Families two days ago.
The President of the Croat Caucus, Ivo Tadić, proposed a conclusion that “the Government of the FBiH and the relevant Federal Ministry monitor the implementation of the Law on the Rights of Veterans for 60 days and report to the Parliament of the FBiH on the names and number of beneficiaries of rights under the Law.”
The Government of the FBiH was in session to declare its position on the amendments to the Proposal of the Law on the Rights of Veterans.
In the meantime, the House of Peoples supported the Proposal of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Electricity, the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Financial Consolidation of Companies, and the Proposal of the Decision on granting consent to amendments and supplements to the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the FBiH and supplements to the Financial Plan of the Federal Solidarity Fund for this year, as well as the Decision on the method of executing the Rebalance of the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the FBiH.
The Government rejected all amendments.
The Law on the Rights of Veterans and Members of Their Families received unanimous support from all 41 deputies who were present at the vote.
Support was also given to the conclusion proposed by the President of the Croat Caucus, Ivo Tadić, that “the Government of the FBiH and the relevant Federal Ministry monitor the implementation of the Law on the Rights of Veterans for 60 days and report to the Parliament of the FBiH on the names and number of beneficiaries of rights under the Law.”
For the Law on the Rights of Veterans to enter into force, it needs to be signed by the President of the FBiH, Marinko Čavara, and then published in the Official Gazette of the FBiH.
