(Patria) - The BiH Court has summoned for the continuation of the main hearing in the criminal proceedings against RS President Milorad Dodik and acting director of the RS Official Gazette Miloš Lukić for Wednesday, December 25.
This information was revealed by Dodik's lawyer Goran Bubić, stating that the Court is relying on the opinion of court expert Doctor Haris Vranić that Dodik is medically fit for trial.
Bubić believes that the submitted expert opinion is in complete contradiction with the content of Dodik's discharge letter signed by several university professors, specialists in abdominal surgery, who recommended rest for 60 days, and up to three months for certain activities.
- Furthermore, it is an individual expert compared to a team of doctors. The expert did not even examine the defendant, while the team of doctors did. Therefore, Doctor Haris Vranić's expert opinion is obviously arbitrary and as such unacceptable - Bubić emphasized.
He states that in this case, "the rights to defense are clearly being neglected, in normal circumstances where the defendant should primarily be medically fit for trial."
- Such conduct, in the opinion of the defense counsel, is not even humane; the defendant's stitches have not even been removed. There is no real or legal reason for such urgency and acceleration of this criminal proceeding in a way that prioritizes the trial over Dodik's health - said Bubić.
Let us recall, Dodik and Lukić are being tried before the BiH Court for not respecting the decisions of the High Representative Christian Schmidt.
