(Patria) - The Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality, Irfan Čengić, remains silent about the scandalous misuse of public funds in the renovation of the children's park in the Medresa Local Community and overpriced works, announced today from SDA Stari Grad.
In the statement, they recall that a camera paid for with 4,000.00 KM of citizens' money costs 187.00 KM at retail, while 4 lamps paid for with 10,000.00 KM cost 71.50 KM each at retail.
"The entire park, which instead of the planned 35,000.00 KM cost more than 150,000.00 KM, is already damaged, meaning the overpriced and low-quality children's playground equipment is already damaged.
Aside from the scandalous misuse of public funds, perhaps an even bigger problem is the metal spikes protruding from the ground and unfinished manholes throughout the children's park, which endanger the lives and health of children.
It is evident that Mayor Čengić considers it more important to once again plaster Stari Grad exclusively with his posters and those of his political partners, spending enormous sums of money on advertising.
Where does he get so much money?
As if that were not enough, Mayor Čengić has illegally placed more of his images on public lighting poles and building facades - even though this is strictly prohibited by election campaign regulations.
All of this has been reported to the relevant inspection authorities, and we hope that the dictatorial and regime influence of Mayor Čengić and his 'Trojka' does not reach them," stated SDA Stari Grad Sarajevo.
