Dodik's Rhetoric Gives Cause for Attacks on Returnees, and the Inaction of Prosecutor's Offices Proves It Is All Systematic

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik took offense at the letter of FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, which rightly
states facts that unfortunately indicate that in the RS there are systematic attacks on returnees, it is stated in the announcement of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide.

"Behind every inflammatory rhetoric of Dodik, some returnee suffers," they add and state:

"The data at the disposal of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide speak precisely about this: From 1996 to 2022, in the area of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity Republika Srpska, 13 returnees were killed (the 13th victim was Murat Badić, who died during the laying of the cornerstone for the reconstruction of the demolished Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka), 22 returnees were seriously injured, over 1,000 returnees were victims of physical assault, while 3,500 returnees suffered some form of verbal attack, most often on ethnic grounds, and over 300 religious objects were desecrated".

As they say, these are data based on statements from 3,500 surveyed returnees, data from police
agencies in BiH, and judicial institutions (courts and prosecutor's offices in BiH).

"Almost none of the mentioned attacks have a judicial epilogue; proceedings for the murders of returnees are mostly conducted against unknown persons. The facts are such and completely verifiable; if this is not about systematic attacks, then let the prosecutor's offices take concrete measures, and not measures against those who were attacked, as is the case in Bratunac," they point out from the Association and attach the responses of the prosecutor's offices of Banja Luka, Doboj, East Sarajevo, and Bijeljina to their requests for information on initiated proceedings for the murders of returnees.
