
(Patria) - The Appellate Department of the Court of BiH rejected Milorad Dodik's appeal against the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) by which he was stripped of the mandate of the president of Republika Srpska.
With this decision, Dodik officially ceases to be the president of Republika Srpska.
As we announced during the day, the three-day deadline expired today within which the Appellate Department of the Court of BiH, in accordance with the law, was supposed to make a decision on the appeal, which was delivered to him on Friday.
Otherwise, Milorad Dodik, in accordance with Article 1.10, paragraph 4, of the Election Law of BiH, his mandate as president of RS ceased on the day the verdict of the Court of BiH became final, by which he was sentenced to one year in prison, with a ban from performing the duty of president of RS for a period of six years.
Otherwise, Article 14.3 of the Election Law of BiH stipulates that early elections, in this specific case for the president of RS, will be held within 90 days from the date of cessation of the mandate.
