Dodik received the CEC's decision, final decision on the RS president's mandate by the beginning of next week

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik received the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH stripping him of the mandate of the RS president. The deadline for appeal to the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH begins today.

Dodik's lawyer Goran Bubić told RTRs that he will file an appeal with the Court of BiH tomorrow. The deadline for appeal is 48 hours from the receipt of the decision.

According to the Election Law of BiH, "The Appellate Division of the Court of BiH is competent to rule on appeals against decisions of the CEC of BiH. The appeal is filed with the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH within two days of the date of receipt of the decision of the CEC of BiH".

"The appeal is filed through the CEC of BiH. The Appellate Division of the Court of BiH, when deciding on the application of this law, is obliged to make a decision on the appeal within three days of the date of receipt of the appeal. The Court of BiH timely and publicly publishes information regarding decisions and explanations of decisions from paragraph (3) of this article", it is stated in the Election Law of BiH.

We remind you that the Court of BiH finally convicted Milorad Dodik for not implementing the decisions of the OHR. Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and a six-year ban from holding the office of RS president.

Given that he was convicted of this criminal offense, Dodik, due to legal consequences, will not be able to hold any position in bodies that are partially or fully financed from state, municipal, or entity budgets for the next six years.

Given that he was sentenced to one year in prison, Dodik asked the Court of BiH to convert his prison sentence into a fine. However, the part of the conviction relating to the security measure, i.e., legal consequences, remains in force.
