Dodik: Federation slept through the measures!

SARAJEVO, (Paria) - Member of the BiH Presidency and SNSD President Milorad Dodik stated that the Federation of BiH slept through the timely introduction of measures to combat coronavirus and that it represents a concern for Republika Srpska.

"The Federation will represent a potential place for the spread of the epidemic for us. When we started introducing measures, they slept through it. When we were closing schools, they were still in schools, when we were closing cafes, they were still in cafes... They supposedly have fewer infected people, but they already have three deaths. They are not tracking clusters like we did. We disinfected entrances. We have to see what we will do if it spreads in the Federation, and that is our big concern," Dodik said.

He states that the authorities in the Federation of BiH did not take the situation seriously.

"We will have a session of the entity parliament on Saturday and we will introduce a state of emergency. It will be possible for us to make decisions faster regarding procurement and other competencies," said Dodik.

He notes that the medical treatment in the RS area was comprehensive and that by introducing quarantine measures at the borders, they significantly reduced the number of incoming people.

"The main thing is that we track down everyone who had contact with infected people so that we can prevent the spread through testing. It is necessary that all those who are confirmed to be infected are kept in a designated area," he emphasized.

According to him, the curfew measures have had significant effects.

"The team in charge is responsible for the procurement of certain materials, primarily ventilators. There is a general rush for ventilators. We are working day and night. We are trying not to make any mistakes that would cause certain damage," Dodik emphasized.
