Dodik rewards RS citizens' money and thus restores shaken trust among voters

RS President Milorad Dodik wants to reward the deputies of the first convocation of the National Assembly of RS with monthly compensation in the amount of 1,200 KM.

The first deputies, the president, as well as the vice-president of RS who held these positions in the period from 1991 to 1996, among whom is the Hague indictee for war crimes Radovan Karadžić, as well as Hague convict Momčilo Krajišnik, Biljana Plavšić, and others, would receive 1,200 KM per month until death, and after death, their wives or children would receive the money, writes the Patria news agency.

With this move, Dodik wants to restore the shaken trust among voters in RS, after his SNSD records a drop in popularity every year. However, the opposition warns that Dodik is being generous with other people's money, i.e., the money of taxpayers, who can barely cope with the severe economic crisis in this part of BiH anyway.

The opposition, as well as many non-governmental organizations, have been warning for a long time that due to the high rate of corruption and crime in the government, Dodik has brought Republika Srpska to the brink of economic collapse. With the money of these same taxpayers, on whom he has long burdened the load of taxes they cannot bear, he now wants to present himself as the great protector of RS, writes Patria.
