An additional 20 locations in Sarajevo to be covered by video surveillance

At the proposal of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, the Government of Sarajevo Canton at today's session gave consent and the green light for the procurement and installation of additional stationary radar systems and additional video surveillance systems, as provided for in the Elaborate regulating this area in Sarajevo Canton, reports the Patria news agency.

The current radar and video surveillance system is ten years old and, as emphasized, does not cover all the important points relevant for operational work within the Ministry's competence. After the necessary procedures and preparations are carried out, the stationary radar system with all necessary equipment will be installed at an additional 17 locations.

For more efficient work of the Traffic Unit, better traffic flow and increased general safety, in addition to the nine locations that were partially or fully covered by video surveillance so far, 20 new sites will receive video surveillance with complete coverage of selected locations of interest. It is estimated that the funds for the procurement and installation of this equipment would be provided on a self-financing basis, meaning that payments to the potential supplier would be made from revenues collected from fines.

School name change 

The Government also adopted and submitted to the Assembly a Draft Decision on giving consent for the name change of the school Public Institution Secondary Trade School Sarajevo to Public Institution Secondary Business, Commercial and Trade School Sarajevo. In this way, the request of the School was accommodated, which presented in its documents that the school's name should reflect the fields and professions in education as well as the occupations taught at a particular school, all with the aim of recognizability on the labor market, which would be aligned with the newly proposed school name.

Adnan Podžo appointed director 

The Government gave consent to the Decision of the Management Board of the Public Institution "Cantonal Center for Social Work" that Adnan Podžo, Master of Science in sports and physical education, be appointed director of this public institution, announced the Government of Sarajevo Canton.
