Girls said "yes" to women's football

The fifth festival "Say YES to women's football" concluded today with an event held at the Training Centre of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica.

This year's festival consisted of three parts, and after Bijeljina and Široki Brijeg, over 100 girls gathered and enjoyed playing football today at the Zenica training camp.

Today's event was opened by the President of the Committee for Youth and Women's Football of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Safija Mahmić, who welcomed those present and expressed satisfaction that a considerable number of girls took part in the festival.

The selector of the women's cadet national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ilija Lucić, is full of positive impressions from all three parts of the event.

- I am glad to see that this festival is moving forward. The girls have the opportunity to learn from other coaches, not only from those they work with in clubs. I followed the festival in Bijeljina and Široki Brijeg, and today I am in Zenica and I am satisfied with what I have seen. We sent a nice picture from these three cities - says Lucić.

Banjaluka player Svjetlana Crnjak, who has experience playing for the national team, selflessly passes on her knowledge to younger age groups.

- Today I am here in the role of a coach. Everything is great and I am glad that the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina organises this event and gives the girls the opportunity to show their skills, and also for us to pass on what we know. This festival contributes to the popularisation of women's football in our country and I hope that in the future there will be even more similar events to get as many girls interested in the sport as possible - says Crnjak.

The players themselves also have positive impressions from the festival.

- Everything is great, the atmosphere is wonderful. We socialise and have the opportunity to meet peers from other clubs. I am glad to be part of this event - said Ivana Đurić from Modriča.

Around 350 girls from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in this year's festival, which was held in three cities.
