Children's song for BiH Statehood Day: "This is My Country" ceremony held in Sarajevo

(Patria) - An inclusive ceremony "This is My Country" was held tonight at the Sarajevo Memorial Center, organized in partnership between the Sarajevo Memorial Center and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, on the occasion of marking BiH Statehood Day.

The program brought together children from primary schools, kindergartens, and social welfare institutions, members of the Sarajevo War Children's Choir "Princess Krofne", the LER creative team, and numerous parents, teachers, and guests who filled the Multimedia Hall.



During the evening, contemporary interpretations of three patriotic songs from 1992, authored by Zlatko Bostandžić, were premiered. These songs were created in the days of siege and resistance in the then-besieged Grbavica.

Today's program connected generations – from the youngest children of the "Kekec" kindergarten to residents of the Nahorevo, Pazarić, Hum Sarajevo institutions, and the Center for Children and Adults with Developmental Disabilities of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.



The ceremony opened with the anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after which the audience was welcomed by the Director of the Sarajevo Memorial Center, Ahmed Kulanić, and the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Adnan Delić.

Kulanić stated that the mission of the Sarajevo Memorial Center is fulfilled precisely through such events, and he invited the children to sing as loudly as possible in honor of those who defended the freedom of their homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Federal Minister Delić spoke about the importance of the homeland, its thousand-year history, and wished all citizens a happy Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.



The program included performances by the "Princess Krofne" choir, the video premiere of the song "Srebrena jutra" (Silver Mornings), stage performances by participants from social welfare institutions, as well as performances by primary school students and kindergarten children.

This unique children's commemoration of the Statehood Day of their homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a confirmation that the culture of remembrance, patriotism, and inclusion can be combined into a powerful message of hope when conveyed through the voices of children – the most sincere guardians of Bosnia and Herzegovina's values.
