Disciplinary lawsuit against Tegeltija and temporary removal from the position of HJPC President

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC) Milan Tegeltija confirmed that on Friday he was informed by the Deputy Chief Disciplinary Prosecutor of the HJPC that a disciplinary lawsuit had been filed against him with a request for temporary removal from duty.

“I am not familiar with the content of the lawsuit, its reasons, or the grounds for filing it, as it has not been delivered to me. I am also not familiar with the reasons or grounds for proposing temporary removal from duty. In the procedure that preceded the filing of this lawsuit, I did not have the opportunity to participate as the accused, nor to comment on the allegations of the lawsuit or the request for suspension,” said Tegeltija.

Hundreds of citizens from all parts of BiH gathered on Wednesday in front of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH in Sarajevo, after the media reported on the involvement of HJPC President Milan Tegeltija in a corruption scandal.

Businessman from Velika Kladuša Nermin Alešević recorded himself giving money to an inspector of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH (SIPA) Marko Pandža, while Pandža on that recording tells him that with that money he will “grease” the HJPC President Tegeltija, in order to speed up the proceedings pending before the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo, which Alešević initiated against several persons from BiH, including high-ranking politicians. The recording was published by Žurnal.

Numerous domestic and foreign organizations have called for an urgent investigation into this case, writes NAP.

The Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor announced on Friday that the lawsuit against Tegeltija was filed due to the accused's meeting with Nermin Alešević, which had been reported by the media in the preceding days.
