Director of BiH Basketball National Teams Igor Stojanović: I am proud to be from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The fever from the victory of the U16 basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not subsided since last night, after the best young basketball players of our country defeated great Spain and thus qualified for the European Championship final against hosts Lithuania, which they will play tonight, writes the news agency Patria.

Although burdened by financial problems, the BiH cadets have shown on the world stage how to defend the colors of their homeland. 

Thus, the director of BiH basketball national teams, Igor Stojanović, wrote on his Facebook profile that, even after all the turmoil, he is proud to be from Bosnia and Herzegovina and that he loves this country.

- I am proud to be with them... proud to be from Bosnia and Herzegovina!!! I love Bosnia and Herzegovina, wrote the enthusiastic Stojanović.

BiH reached the final of the European Championship after defeating Spain in a dramatic battle with two overtimes for a final score of 86:78.

After the official score was 63:63 in the match BiH - Spain, overtime was played for advancement to the final. In the first overtime, both teams scored ten points each and reached a new tie of 73:73, but in the second overtime, the Dragons dominated. Musa and Čampara scored 24 points each, while Sikiraš scored 23. 

Neither team achieved a significant result over the other in the first three quarters, and at the end of the third quarter, the score was 47:47. Josip Pandža's team also made several mistakes during the third quarter, but this can be justified by fatigue, as well as the great desire to advance to the final, considering that this is already a historic success for BiH.

The match between Lithuania and BiH will be played tonight at 8:15 PM.
