KJKP GRAS Director Senad Mujagić Not Yet Questioned!

(Patria) - Chief Cantonal Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office Meliha Dugalija also responded to journalists' questions at today's press conference, confirming that KJKP Gras Director Senad Mujagić has still not been questioned in any capacity.

So far, 50 witnesses have been heard, and no order has been issued to expand the investigation to another person as a suspect, so only the driver of the ČKD 516 tram, Adnan Kasapović, is currently suspected.

Dugalija could not specify when the investigation would be completed, given that it is being conducted in multiple directions, and extensive documentation has been seized from several institutions, including KJKP GRAS, the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, the company repairing magnetic brakes for GRAS, and video surveillance from several institutions.

When asked if external or international experts could be engaged, Dugalija stated that they would be glad if they could, but that it needs to be seen what the possibilities are and how much it would cost.

Regarding the GRAS director, Mujagić publicly resigned on February 16, but his resignation has not yet been considered by the Supervisory Board of KJKP Gras, while the resigned Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, is seeking the appointment of an interim management for GRAS.

This investigation, as well as everything that followed in the days after the accident, revealed numerous shortcomings within GRAS itself, and several tram drivers are operating without a valid license for driving rail vehicles. On the other hand, an accident that occurred a few days after this tragedy, when one of the new trams collided with a car, showed that the tram driver was under the influence of psychoactive substances and without a valid license issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.
