(Patria) - Director of the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada {IGK} Emir Ramić will attend the UN General Assembly session where the Resolution on the "International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica" will be considered and adopted.
IGK actively participated in the lobbying process for the adoption of the Resolution. Special activity was in Canada, which is a sponsor of the Resolution.
"Support for the Resolution is key in our joint pursuit of justice, truth, culture of remembrance, and accountability. By fighting for justice, we preserve peace. I ask all UN General Assembly member states to support the Resolution. Let's think about the message of the Resolution as we seek support at the UN General Assembly.
Because Srebrenica, BiH, and the world need justice and recognition for the victims and survivors. Srebrenica has in recent months returned to the global international stage as a symbol of the fight for justice, truth, reconciliation, learning, genocide prevention, and ultimately a symbol of the fight against genocide denial and the glorification of convicted war criminals. No one can escape from that anymore. Thank you to everyone in the world who is raising their voice for the truth about the genocide in Srebrenica and justice for the victims of that terrible crime," Ramić stated.
