Diplomatic and sports activities: Bećirović travels to Canada, will also attend Dragons match

(Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović left for Canada today, where he is expected to meet with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Tomorrow, our national football team plays its first match of the World Cup against hosts Canada in Toronto, so as part of his visit to Canada, Bećirović will also attend the game.

The official website of the Canadian Prime Minister does not announce a meeting with Bećirović, so it is unclear whether they will meet in Ottawa or Toronto and on which day the meeting is planned. There is no official announcement from the cabinet of Denis Bećirović, i.e., the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović's return is planned for Sunday, June 14.

Although there is nothing unusual in diplomatic relations and mutual visits between officials of the two countries, especially with Canada, where a large number of citizens of Bosnian origin live, it is interesting that Bećirović's cabinet sent a request for a meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister only a few days after the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team secured a spot at the World Cup by defeating Italy, and when the match dates were already known.

As previously reported by Stav, Bećirović's cabinet also requested a visit to Niagara Falls.
