(Patria) - The Supervisory Board of the Sarajevo International Airport has refused to appoint Dino Selimović as acting director of this public company, Istraga.ba learns. According to information from Istraga, the Board members determined that Selimović does not meet the requirements for director, even though the Federation Government gave preliminary consent for his appointment on Monday.
The formal decision has not yet been submitted to the Government, but as we learn, the Board members considered the draft decision on appointing Dino Selimović until the early morning hours and agreed that this candidate does not meet the requirements. To avoid the fate of their predecessors who were under POSKOK prohibition measures, the new Supervisory Board members decided not to appoint Dino Selimović, who currently serves as an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković.
The saga surrounding Sarajevo Airport began at the end of 2024 when NiP candidate Sanin Ramezić was appointed as acting director, after the Statute of this public company was previously amended to adapt to the conditions met by the NiP candidate for director. At that time, POSKOK became involved, and upon its proposal, the Special Department of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina imposed prohibition measures on three members of the Supervisory Board of JP Sarajevo Airport - Benjamin Mešak, Adnan Mahmutović, Žan Matić - and director Sanin Ramezić. The airport was without management for a certain period, until the Government eventually appointed a new Supervisory Board, which appointed Amadeo Mandić as acting director.
Due to the failure to submit adequate documentation, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo initially refused to register Mandić in the court register as the authorized representative. In the second half of February, after new members of the Airport Supervisory Board were appointed, who conducted a lawful procedure and submitted documentation to the court, the registration was completed. Given that Mandić is an SDP cadre and NiP wants to take control of the Airport, the Government decided to appoint a new acting director, Dino Selimović, who comes directly from Konaković's cabinet. However, the members of the new Supervisory Board determined that Selimović does not meet the requirements because he has the necessary work experience with 180 ECTS, while the position of Airport director requires 240 ECTS credits. Additionally, Selimović submitted a diploma from the private University Apeiron in Banja Luka, which was under investigation on suspicion of issuing fake diplomas.
According to information from Istraga, a "search" is underway for a new candidate for acting director of the Airport, who would serve until the completion of the ongoing competition procedure.
The members of the Supervisory Board are: Vlado Džoić, Adil Halilović, Faris Godinjak, Mirela Kapetanović, and Ajla Popovac Behmen.
