Dinamo and Hajduk draw without goals, Hajduk leads at the end of the first half of the season

(Patria) - In the last round of the autumn part of the SuperSport HNL, Dinamo and Hajduk played a goalless draw at Maksimir. Autumn champion Hajduk thus remained seven points ahead of third-placed Dinamo, who have two games in hand. Mauro Perković scored a goal for Dinamo in the 78th minute, but referee Patrik Kolarić, after intervention from the VAR room, justifiably disallowed the goal due to a handball by Dino Perić and the scorer Perković himself.

Hajduk thus remained undefeated in their third derby of the season. In the first round, it was 1:2 at Maksimir, and then at Poljud it ended 1:0. Hajduk, under the leadership of Mislav Karoglan, still does not know defeat. They have recorded six consecutive wins and two draws - with Lokomotiva and now at Maksimir.

Dinamo better, more dangerous, but without real chances

Dinamo was better, but apart from enormous energy and intensity, the big derby did not offer too many opportunities. The nets remained untouched, so Hajduk welcomed the winter break with a seven-point lead over Dinamo, who are third. Dinamo also has two games in hand. Rijeka is in second place, six points behind Hajduk, but with one game less.

From the very beginning of the match, Dinamo positioned itself as the master of events on the field, while the players from Split retreated and ceded possession to their opponent.

Japanese Kaneko the best player on the field

Dominance in possession did not necessarily lead to numerous chances for Dinamo. In fact, neither Dinamo nor Hajduk had any great chances in the first half. The Japanese footballer Kaneko caused the most trouble for Hajduk's defense, and Diallo couldn't mark him. Because of this, two Hajduk players often had to mark Kaneko, who easily broke through on the right flank.

After several dangerous crosses into the visitors' penalty area, the first real chance came from Hajduk. In the 27th minute, Livaja created a lot, and after a cross, Benrahou tried from close range, but without success.

Dinamo's best chance in the first half came in the 38th minute when Ristovski shot well from a distance, but the Split team's goalkeeper Lučić was ready.

Dinamo's goal justifiably disallowed

The game was very intense on both sides throughout the first half. There were several dangerous tackles, but referee Kolarić allowed slightly rougher play and awarded a minimal number of yellow cards to the players. Only Petković and Pukštas were booked for elbowing opponents.

From the beginning of the second half, there were more yellow cards than real chances. Defenses dominated, and only Sahiti's long-range attempt for Hajduk in the 58th minute and Dinamo's chance in the 67th minute can be highlighted. Kaneko prepared everything, but Petković reacted very poorly to the return ball.

In the 78th minute, the net finally shook, and it was the visitors' net. After Bulat's cross, a scramble ensued in front of Hajduk's goal. After everything, Perković scored, but Dinamo's lead was disallowed by VAR. It was reviewed for a potential handball by either Perić or Perković, and the home team's joy was quickly silenced.

Until the end, Dinamo dominated, Ademi tried in stoppage time, then the home team also sought a penalty, but everything ended without goals. After two league wins for Hajduk against Dinamo this season, this was the first point won by the current champion Dinamo against their biggest rival.
