DF Sarajevo: We welcome Uk's resignation, call on Šteta and Nikšić to follow his example

(Patria) - Democratic Front (DF) Sarajevo welcomed the resignation of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Prime Minister Nihad Uk and called on KS Minister of Transport Adnan Šteta and FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić to follow Uk's example and also resign from their positions.

Nihad Uk resigned as KS Prime Minister

(Patria) - Sarajevo Canton (KS) Prime Minister Nihad UK has resigned from his position following a tragic tram accident in Sarajevo that claimed a young life. You can read his statement at the end of this text.

"Just a month ago, citizens of Sarajevo Canton were losing their lives and suffering severe injuries due to catastrophic negligence in clearing public areas of snow and ice.

The irresponsible attitude towards people affected by floods in Jablanica and the approach to their problems also show how shameful the negligence of the current authorities in the Federation of BiH, led by Nermin Nikšić, is.

Now we have tragedies in which citizens are losing their lives and suffering serious injuries due to inadequate management and maintenance of public transport.

The latest tragedy has been the last straw in the irresponsible and negligent management of public affairs by the current authorities, which is causing increasingly severe consequences for citizens.

For all the above reasons, we consider Nihad Uk's move responsible and call on Adnan Šteta and Nermin Nikšić to follow his example and resign.

Furthermore, we insist on an urgent, independent, and transparent investigation into all those responsible for safety in public transport, and on establishing full criminal and institutional accountability for all tragedies in which citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have suffered, without exception", stated DF Sarajevo.
